Yes, the trick is simple! And I blame the Goalie’s positioning.
I did a shot like that when I was 7 years old. But still.

Unfortunately, it was a game against Arsenal.
I was extremely pissed off when I read about what Babel’s whining on the Internet this morning. First of all, he needs to just shut his mouth! Second, he needs to start using his brain more, and start using his footballing skills even more.
Look, Babel, you sucked! I asked Rafa to give you another chance to prove to the world your talents. But all you got to show, when I passed you the ball, was with your head down and dribble unsuccessfully. How many times have I told you that you are NOT Stevie G! You’re not me in terms of 1) skills, 2) the captain of this Liverpool team, and 3) born and raise by Liverpool. When you have the ball outside of the box, pass the fucking ball after 2 dribbles, would you? You know what you remind me of? Milan Baros! And you know very well how his career ended up!
Also, when I said you don’t have a brain, you really didn’t make it difficult for me to prove it. Look at our squad! Let me make it a bit easier, just look at the 3 + 1 positions in Rafa’s 4-2-3-1 formation. You will never ever replace Torres as the first choice in that ‘1’ up front. Rafa has been assigning you to play on the left side in those ‘3’ Attacking Midfielder positions. Also playing in that position could be Riera and Benayoun. If you look to the right side, there’s Kuyt, and usually Benayoun is his backup if needed. (We all know El Zhar is not ready yet!) So including yourself, we are looking at 4 players fighting for 2 outside positions. Was it that bad for such a World Class football club, with so many games to play in a season? (I hope you have enough of a brain to figure out that the central Attacking Midfielder role is forever mine, but more on that later.) I know this is a ‘World Cup season’, and you want to be certain that you’ll get picked for the World Cup. But had you keep your mouth shut, I would have fought for you for at least some Carling Cup games, if not FA Cup’s too! But no, you want to open your big mouth to ‘tell Ajax to come bail you out!’
Now, back to my central Attacking Midfielder position. Please take a good look at Lucas’ recent criticism! Rafa has been begging me to play in the ‘Alonso role!’ I didn’t play in that position during our last game against Bolton because Rafa thought Lucas could handle Bolton’s midfield. Should I have to play in Lucas’ position, I see either moving Kuyt to partner Torres in a 4-4-2, or to have Benayoun trying to be me and remain in 4-2-3-1. If this is the case, we are now suddenly looking at the same 4 players fighting for 3 positions. Was it that tough?
This team need creative attacking players… like me. Although there’s only 1 me, we still need all the talents available to last an entire ‘title challenging’ season. Normally, I would just ask Rafa to send you back to Ajax. Instead, I’m demanding you to make a public apology to Rafa, and to the team, and to tough it out for the rest of this season. We need you!
Now go shut the hell up and honor your contract!
I watched this game today. I truly believe that Leonardo wouldn’t last through September. This Milan team is way too old. It’s literally the same team as the 2005 team that I played against in Istanbul.
Reina – 5 – I blame you for conceding the second goal. Stop waving at the ball. Block it! Punch it! Do whatever you need to do to prevent it from getting inside the net!
Skrtel – 7 – I can’t complain much when you are playing with a broken jaw-bone. Thanks for the effort!
Carragher – 6 – Where’s Agger? I think you’re reaching the end of your career!
Insua – 6 – You’re still better in attacking than defending. Overall, I’m happy with your performance. However, you could easily be the weakest link in the defense.
Johnson – 7 – Your attacking runs and plays are just awesome. Please make sure you go back to defense if/when needed. Someday, you’ll get caught out.
Lucas – 5 – You can’t pass. You can’t shoot. You can’t tackle. You can’t head the ball. What else do you want me to say?
Mascherano – 7 – Please don’t go. Losing Alonso is bad enough.
Benayoun – 5 – I think you are much better when you come off the bench. I’m going to have a talk with Rafa.
Kuyt – 5 – Your performance today reminded me of why I dislike your contribution in the team so much last season.
Torres – 6 – Just shut your mouth. Stop being like a cry baby.
Gerrard – 4 – Yes, I’m a bit harsh on myself especially when I’m the one who conceded that PK. But this is a team sport. I can’t carry the team on my back at all time… even though I’m the captain!
Voronin – 4 – Please send this guy back to Germany. He can’t shoot. He can’t run. And when he made a run, he ran into my space!
Babel – 5 – Please don’t disappoint me any further. I have really high hope on you.
Yes, I’m disappointed. Extremely disappointed. But what can I do about it? As you can see from my performance, I wasn’t 100% fit. I had a slight groin injury and I wasn’t completely healed. But I knew that playing away at Tottenham could be a challenge, not to mention that Robbie Keane will be wanting to put one past Reina (Rafa) badly, just to get back on Rafa. That’s why I insisted to play on. It turned out that we conceded 2 goals. I was actually worried that we’ll concede more goals because it was clear that Carragher was still in pain after the Carragher vs. Skrtel incident. But we hung in there. And ‘yes’, I do think it was a penalty when Voronin was knocked over in the box.
Reina – 7 – Yes, I know he conceded 2 goals. But look at that save that he did to deny Robbie Keane’s goal attempt!
Skrtel – 7 – Despite playing in pain, he delivered a good performance. I have to give him some sympathy points for playing through the pain barrier. (I also heard that he was seeing double vision immediately after the collision with Carra.)
Carragher – 6 – I think he needs to take some responsibility for the second goal. Yeah, I should have headed the ball too, but I could only jump so high!
Insua – 7 – I’m really impressed by his performance today. His support in attack was really impressive! I’m expecting more from him in the next few weeks.
Johnson – 8 – Yes, just what I expected from him since the day Rafa told me that he’s a potential transfer target.
Lucas – 6 – He’s no Alonso. He’s no Mascherano. Show me something to convince me please!
Mascherano – 7 – Solid as usual. I wish he could avoid be carded so frequently.
Babel – 5 – I had high hopes on you. What happened to you? Please don’t disappoint me anymore. Otherwise, I’ll have a chat with Rafa.
Kuyt – 6 – I think the International game that he played a few days ago worn him out a little. He didn’t quite deliver today.
Torres – 6 – He hardly got a chance. Partly because I hardly delivered any decent passes to him. And when I stop delivering, we all know that we can’t always count on the Attack Midfielders playing out wide. And to win the Title, I think those two outside Attacking Midfielders need to start delivering, with or without me.
Myself – 6- Yes, I know I scored. So? I wasn’t at all happy about my own performance today. Partly because of my injury, but I’m not going to use that as an excuse. I think I’m just missing Alonso too much.
Benayoun – 7 – I think Rafa should have started him instead of Babel. But introducing Benayoun later on in the game provides some x-factor to the opponent. We just didn’t expect us to be chasing the game when we needed Yossi.
Voronin – 6 – Had it been me who got knocked sideway in the box, the Ref would have given us 2 penalty kicks! Did the German league not require the players to run? Voronin could hardly walk, let alone run!
Ayala – 7 – Scared the crap out of me when Rafa told me that he needs to put on Ayala and to take out Skrtel. But Ayala didn’t disappoint. In fact, I think he did a pretty good job on his Premiership debut.
